Peter Collins Grief Counselling
For men navigating bereavement

Real strength means reaching out when you are grieving.

There is no single male way to grieve. Many men are taught to stay strong, stay busy, or keep emotions hidden. Counselling offers a confidential, private, supportive space where you can process grief in a way that feels natural and manageable for you, without pressure or judgement.

What to expect

Some men experience grief in a more practical or action-oriented way. Rather than openly expressing emotions, they may focus on responsibilities, work, projects, or staying busy. We can work with that honestly and without asking you to perform grief in a way that does not fit.

  • Anger, numbness, or overwhelming sadness.
  • Pressure to stay strong for other people.
  • Difficulty expressing emotions while grieving.
  • Physical exhaustion, stress, or sleep difficulties.
  • Adjusting to life after loss while honouring your loved one.

What sessions can feel like

Some men cope in a practical or action-oriented way. Rather than openly expressing emotions, they may focus on work, projects, responsibilities, or staying constantly busy. We can work with that honestly and without forcing a style of grieving that does not fit you.

There is no expectation to arrive prepared. Share as much or as little as feels comfortable. Move at a pace that works for you. Silence is welcome too.
